What is the cost of Invisalign®?

The cost of Invisalign® often mirrors that of traditional wire braces. However, the exact price can vary depending on factors such as the condition of your teeth, the length of the treatment, and the number of aligners required. It’s important to have a consultation to get a precise estimate tailored to your specific needs.

Will other people be able to see my Invisalign® aligners?

Invisalign® aligners are made of clear plastic, designed to be virtually invisible. This allows for discreet correction of orthodontic issues. Most patients will require small, tooth-colored attachments on several teeth to aid in the movement of their teeth. These attachments are made from materials that match your teeth, making them nearly undetectable.

How does Invisalign® straighten teeth?

Invisalign® straightens teeth using a series of custom-fit aligners that gradually shift your teeth into their ideal positions. Each set of aligners is slightly adjusted to move your teeth incrementally. By regularly switching to a new set of aligners, usually every one to two weeks, you can progressively achieve a straighter smile over the course of your treatment.

Can I remove my Invisalign® aligners during the treatment process?

Yes, Invisalign® aligners are designed to be removable. This allows you to eat, drink, brush, and floss without any obstructions. However, for optimal results, it is crucial to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. Consistently wearing the aligners ensures that your teeth move according to the treatment plan.

Will Invisalign® have an impact on my speech?

You may experience a slight lisp or minor speech changes during the initial few days of wearing your Invisalign® aligners. This is a normal adjustment period as your tongue gets used to the aligners. Most patients find that their speech returns to normal after this short adjustment phase.

Am I allowed to drink beverages while wearing my Invisalign® aligners?

Dr. Hardy recommends that patients only drink cold water while wearing their aligners. Occasionally, drinking through a straw can be acceptable for beverages other than water, but it should always be cold to prevent any potential distortion of the trays. It’s best to discuss your specific eating and drinking habits with your orthodontist at the start of your treatment.

How do I clean my Invisalign® aligners?

Cleaning your Invisalign® aligners is simple. Use a toothbrush and water to scrub them gently. For a deeper clean, you can occasionally use antibacterial hand soap with a toothbrush. Always rinse the aligners and your toothbrush thoroughly before wearing them again to avoid any residue.

How long will my Invisalign® treatment take to complete?

The duration of Invisalign® treatment varies based on individual needs, but most adult patients complete their treatment within 12 months. For Invisalign Teen® patients, the treatment time may be influenced by the growth of their permanent teeth.
